Long Term Disability Case Review

It is best practice to review at regular intervals all employees who remain on long-term absence (over 6 months). They may be supported by your permanent health insurance at this point and we are happy to liaise with the insurer if appropriate.

We will continue to consider fitness for work and possible new treatment options, which may aid their recovery and return to the workplace. We can also continue to assess whether there are any workplace adjustments that may bring them back to work or whether there is alternative work that they could perform.

We can also consider whether in fact they are permanently unfit for work and if there are provisions for ill health retirement on their company pension scheme assess them for eligibility for this benefit.
